Safe Bulkers offloads veteran kamsarmax amid orderbook expansion with 6 bulkers

The New York Stock Exchange-listed drybulk shipowner Safe Bulkers, Inc. has entered into an agreement for the sale of Pedhoulas Leader, a 2007 Japanese-built, kamsarmax class dry-bulk vessel.

At the same time, the orderbook of the company consists of 6 dry bulk vessels, two of which dual-fueled, with an aggregate carrying capacity of 0.7 million dwt and deliveries from the second quarter of 2026 until the first quarter of 2027.

The Polys Hajioannou-led company said the gross sale price for the Pedhoulas Leader is $12.5m.

The company states that the kamsarmax will be delivered to her new owner between August and October 2025.
