Few new players retreat as transpacific rates crash

Opportunistic Transpacific newcomers have responded differently to the collapse in freight rates.



Only China United Lines has backed out, withdrawing its restarted transpacific service after the first sailing in early June. The Chinese state-controlled operator has diverted ships from its solo transpacific service to its Far East-Red Sea routes where rates are stable.
