A Turkish-owned ship was allowed to transit the Strait of Hormuz, per Turkey’s Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu, who added that negotiations were continuing regarding the safe passage of other turkish vessels as well.

Around 15 Turkish-owned vessels are presently anchored near the Hormuz, and one among them, called the Rozana, was allowed to pass through.

The Minister added that six among them are cruise ships which are waiting along with passengers on board.

The vessels have around 171 personnel, and in a parliamentary meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), Uraloglu said that authorities were in contact with all the crew members.

He said that the only difficulty is that the crew members are stuck there; however, all their needs are being met.

The U.S-Iran war has impacted shipping in the Gulf and halted the movement of ships across the maritime chokepoint of Hormuz, which has been closed to maritime traffic by Iran.

Many tankers have also been attacked, and atleast four seafarers lost
