Fuel prices in Greece are rising sharply as the ongoing conflict in the Middle East affects global oil markets, pushing gasoline costs higher across the country.
Within just one week, fuel prices increased by as much as 10 cents per liter. The national average price of unleaded gasoline has climbed to nearly €1.79 per liter, reflecting broader volatility in international energy markets linked to the war involving Iran.
The increases are even more pronounced on several Greek islands, where gasoline prices have already reached or exceeded €2 per liter on average. In the Cyclades island group, the average price has reached about €2 per liter, with some gas stations reporting prices between €2.00 and €2.35 per liter in islands such as Milos, Paros, Ios, Naxos, Andros, Santorini, Mykonos, and others.
In the nearby Dodecanese islands, average gasoline prices are slightly lower but still elevated, reaching around €1.92 per liter, with some stations charging between €2.02 and €2.19 per liter.
