“K” LINE leads global cleanup for oceans

In a strong show of environmental commitment, the “K” LINE Group organized a series of cleanup activities around the globe to coincide with World Oceans Day on June 8. Employees from 17 group companies, along with their families, took part in the initiative, collecting trash from beaches, riversides, office surroundings, and other public areas.
The company reports that over 600 people participated between late May and early July, making this year’s effort their biggest yet. Together, they gathered roughly 10,700 liters of garbage, most of it land-based waste that often ends up polluting the sea.
Protecting biodiversity, especially in oceans, has become a key focus for “K” LINE alongside its climate change initiatives. These cleanup drives began in fiscal 2023 and have continued to grow. The company also plans to donate to conservation groups based on the number of volunteers involved.
By encouraging hands-on participation, “K” LINE hopes to raise environmental awareness within the organization and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable planet.
