AD Ports, Emirates Food ink 50-year deal at Khalifa Port

AD Ports Group has signed a 50-year land lease with Emirates Food Industries. The company is part of the National Holding Group.

The project will be built at Khalifa Port’s South Quay. It will cover 100,000 square meters. Phase one includes modern grain silos. The goal is to boost food storage and support the UAE’s food security.

Later, the site will add a grain processing plant. Also, the full complex will be high-tech and sustainable. Total investment is expected to reach AED 2 billion.

”By providing access to our advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics solutions, we are creating a robust platform that will enhance the efficiency and resilience of the nation’s food supply chain,” commented Saif Al Mazrouei, Chief Executive Officer, Ports Cluster-AD Ports Group.

”The access to Khalifa Port’s world-class facilities will enable us to optimise our supply chain, expand our storage capacity, and ensure a consistent flow of essential food products to meet the growing regional demand,” stated Joseph Abdo, Chief Executive Officer, Emirates Food Industries Group.

In addition, the site has direct access to deep-water berths. It can handle full-load Panamax vessels. This will improve trade flow and supply chain speed.

The project strengthens Khalifa Port’s position as a regional logistics hub. It also supports national goals for food supply resilience.
