Gemini Cooperation to start calls at new Damietta Alliance Terminal
The Gemini Cooperation is set to begin calling at the new Damietta Alliance Terminal in Egypt as the facility approaches commissioning, according to DynaLiners.
The terminal, located at the port of Damietta, will be operated by a joint venture between Eurogate/Contship and Hapag-Lloyd. Gemini plans to introduce Damietta calls on its SE3/AE15 and JD3/Jeddah3 services.
Initially, the calls will be introduced on an operational basis, with the partners expecting to open the port for customer bookings at a later stage once the terminal is fully integrated into the network.
Under the revised rotation, the SE3/AE15 service will call at Port Said, Izmit, Istanbul (Ambarli), Port Said, Damietta, Singapore, Qingdao, Kwangyang, Ningbo, Tanjung Pelepas, and return to Port Said.
The JD3/Jeddah3 service will operate on a loop covering Damietta, Port Said, Aqaba, Jeddah, Aqaba, and back to Damietta.
The addition of Damietta is expected to strengthen Gemini’s presence in the Eastern Mediterranean and Red Sea region, providing enhanced connectivity once the new terminal becomes fully operational.
