DHShipbuilding hits 2026 order target in Q1

DHShipbuilding has achieved its 2026 annual order target in the first quarter. The company secured 12 Suezmax crude oil tanker orders, ranking first globally in this segment.

Strong demand and record pricing

On March 30, DHShipbuilding signed a contract with an Oceania-based shipowner for two Suezmax tankers. The deal is valued at about KRW 276 billion. It also marks the highest price ever achieved by the company for this vessel type, highlighting strong global confidence in its brand.

The same shipowner placed another order just one month after a previous contract in February. This repeat business reflects long-term trust and satisfaction with DHShipbuilding’s vessel quality.

Strategy drives market leadership

Since entering the Suezmax market in 2018, DHShipbuilding has focused on a “Selection and Focus” strategy. The company optimized its production system and strengthened its marketing efforts. As a result, it has established itself as a leader in the Suezmax segment.

Solid backlog ensures stability

By reaching its target early, DHShipbuilding has secured a backlog of 35 vessels scheduled for delivery through 2029. This provides a stable foundation for future operations.

With order pressure reduced, the company will now focus on improving profitability and production efficiency. It also plans to accelerate the development of eco-friendly, high-value next-generation vessels and explore new markets.

Focus shifts to growth and profitability

A company representative said, “Following our record-breaking financial performance last year, achieving our annual target in just the first quarter has significantly eased the pressure of securing work. With a solid backlog, we can now focus on improving production efficiency and maximizing profitability.”

DHShipbuilding now aims to strengthen internal growth while maintaining its leadership in the global Suezmax market.
