CMA CGM announces new Peak Season Surcharges on key trade routes

CMA CGM has announced new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on multiple trade lanes to maintain service reliability and efficiency.

Europe & North Africa to Australia

From May 7, 2026, a PSS will apply on shipments from North Europe, the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black Sea, and North Africa to Australia.

  • Scope: NEMO (NEWMO), PAD (RTWPAN), and relay services via Asia
  • Cargo: All
  • Rates:
    • USD 350 per TEU (direct services)
    • USD 200 per TEU (relay services via Asia)
  • Applies to contracts with up to three months validity.

East Mediterranean to USA

From May 1, 2026, a separate PSS will apply on shipments from the East Mediterranean, including Greece, Türkiye, Egypt, and others—to the United States (East Coast, West Coast, and Gulf).

  • Cargo: All except out-of-gauge (OOG)
  • Rates:
    • USD 1,050 per 20’ container
    • USD 2,100 per 40’/40’HC/45’ containers.

These surcharges reflect ongoing market pressures and capacity dynamics across global shipping routes.
