PSA Mumbai boosts DFC rail connectivity with CONCOR partnership
PSA India hosted a customer engagement event in New Delhi to showcase PSA Mumbai’s integration with the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
More than 150 trade stakeholders, shippers and logistics partners attended the event.
PSA said the session focused on improving cargo movement efficiency and strengthening supply chain connectivity across North India.
PSA Mumbai is currently the only terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority capable of handling 360-TEU double-stack container trains across six rail lines.
The terminal is connected to more than 63 Inland Container Depots (ICDs) across India and has annual rail handling capacity of up to 1.5 million TEUs.
PSA said the WDFC connection will reduce cargo transit times between Delhi and Mumbai while improving reliability and lowering logistics costs.
“PSA Mumbai’s direct connectivity to the Dedicated Freight Corridor represents a significant milestone in strengthening India’s trade and logistics ecosystem,” said Vincent Ng, Regional CEO MESAAT at PSA International.
Ahead of the event, PSA Mumbai also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR).
The agreement aims to strengthen rail-based cargo movement between PSA Mumbai and CONCOR’s network of more than 68 ICDs and domestic terminals across India.
The companies plan to operate scheduled container train services and expand multimodal logistics connectivity across the country.
PSA said the collaboration will help reduce road congestion, improve turnaround times and support greener cargo transportation.
