Voyager gets boost from Motion Ventures

Maritime tech company Voyager Portal has landed fresh funding from Singapore-based investor Motion Ventures to drive global growth and product development.

The platform helps commodity traders, charterers, and brokers digitize complex voyage operations. Instead of spreadsheets and long email chains, users get a streamlined, centralized system for managing voyages, demurrage, and freight costs.

The funding will support team expansion and product upgrades, with a focus on Singapore, the UK, and Brazil, all key shipping and commodity hubs.

”By optimising their platform for flexibility, collaboration, and analytics, they have not only created a powerful alternative to the industry incumbents but a strong foundation that can transform the market,” said Anders Vartdal, Senior Investment Associate, Motion Ventures.

Voyager plans to double down on AI-powered features, including tools to extract structured data from Charter Party Contracts and other voyage documents. The roadmap also includes real-time voyage planning and optimization.

”Demurrage is one particular place where we are seeing strong growth, but this is just scratching the surface. The funding will help us expand our engineering team and accelerate product development, aiming to fully automate the voyage and demurrage lifecycle,” stated Matthew Costello, CEO, Voyager.

“We’re focused on helping customers gain visibility and cut costs,” said the company. “With AI, we can take the guesswork out of demurrage and freight forecasting.”

The deal with Motion Ventures strengthens Voyager’s push to modernize one of maritime’s most complex sectors. It also aligns with Motion Ventures’ mission to back digital solutions across the global supply chain.

Together, the two aim to unlock a more efficient and transparent future for bulk shipping operations.
