PSA and CCN launch OptEModal for seamless sea-air cargo

PSA Singapore and Cargo Community Network (CCN) have launched OptEModal, a new digital platform designed to simplify and speed up sea-air cargo transfers.
The platform helps shippers and logistics providers manage intermodal shipments more efficiently. It offers real-time tracking, smart risk management, and improved cargo visibility.
Developed in collaboration with players across the maritime and air cargo sectors, OptEModal tackles long-standing challenges in sea-air logistics. It connects data from PSA’s terminals, ground handlers, and airline partners into a single system.
One key feature: it enables cargo to move from ship to plane within 24 hours of arrival in Singapore.
The platform also uses AI to predict ETAs, flag potential delays, and suggest alternative flight options. This reduces both time and cost, especially for high-value or time-sensitive cargo.
“OptEModal is a big step forward for sea-air logistics,” said Seow Hwee, Head of Port Ecosystem Business for Southeast Asia at PSA. “It builds on Singapore’s strengths in both shipping and air freight. More visibility and better coordination help everyone in the supply chain work smarter.”
Adrian Goh, CEO of CCN, added that the platform reflects their push for digital transformation. “By combining our air cargo tools with PSA’s expertise, we’ve created something that really helps bridge the gap between sea and air. It gives the logistics community better insights and control.”
OptEModal supports industries like electronics, healthcare, and e-commerce, where speed and reliability are critical. It’s built to handle real-world logistics, with tools that respond to changing conditions on the ground.
PSA and CCN say the platform is more than just a tech upgrade. It’s a blueprint for the future of connected, adaptive logistics networks.
