ONE Europe renews and expands ISO 14001 Certification

Ocean Network Express (ONE) Europe has renewed its ISO 14001:2015 certification, now covering a wider range of inland logistics. The expanded scope includes not only inland transportation procurement but also container depot handling, maintenance, and repair across Europe and Africa.
Firstly, this builds on ONE’s existing certification for marine operations and strengthens its environmental management across the full container transport chain.
The company says the renewal reinforces its commitment to high environmental standards backed by third-party validation.
”We teamed up with our Maintenance & Repair team to expand the scope and measure performance of key depot suppliers, looking at energy efficiency, waste management and emission monitoring to reduce our joint impact,” said Frida Thorborg, Manager, ONE EUA Green Strategy Department.
In addition to the certification update, ONE has launched a formal Ship Recycling Policy and joined the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI). The new policy ensures end-of-life vessels are dismantled only at approved, regulation-compliant facilities.
Together, these steps reflect a full-lifecycle approach to sustainability, from inland operations to responsible ship recycling.
ONE’s broader ESG strategy includes cutting emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3. The company is also growing its intermodal network, investing in alternative fuels, and improving transparency on environmental data.
By embedding ISO 14001 standards into daily operations and supplier practices, ONE says it’s helping shippers meet their own green goals.
As the industry pushes toward decarbonisation, ONE’s certification renewal signals clear intent: to lead as a logistics partner committed to sustainability.
